Mercia v Rugeley Tuesday 29th September

1 min read
We travelled to Mercia in the one car and the conversation revolved around how difficult the season was likely to be in Division 1. As it turned out all the games were tightly contested. Bill's opponent made an error which was suitably punished. Luke played solidly and his game resulted in a draw. Bob miscalculated in the endgame and had to work hard to obtain a draw by perpetual ckeck after 74 moves. Yev played a beautiful ending with little time left and secured the win for Rugeleywhen his opponent resigned. An encouraging start.

Great night out for RCC members

Rugeley Chess Club members and partners enjoyed a memorable evening of food and conversation at Indulge in Cannock on Thursday evening. A variety of dishes, from the mild to not so mild, were ordered.
